This gorgeous range of subwoofers have reinvented the category, so much so, that manufacturer Elettromedia has abandoned the word subwoofer in favour of the more descriptive “Sound Pressure Generator” to differentiate these stunning products from run-of-the-mill subwoofers.

Consisting of Sound Pressure Generators; SX 250D, SX 300D and SX 380D (250mm, 300mm and 380mm respectively) each one capable of shaking the ground when driven with a suitable amplifier and installed with FOUR MASTER know how.

Each product features a triple stacked magnet motor assembly and dual 2 Ohm voice coils. The moving assembly is designed for linear performance over extraordinary excursion ensuring maximum air movement without distortion. A dual spider design and four layer voice coil wound on an extended aluminium former also assists with tonal accuracy at high level. With this amount of powerful movement, a great deal of design effort has gone into making the chassis as rigid as possible. The sheer forces involved required some new thinking on basket design as well as with heat dissipation. From the aluminium coil former to the vented backplate, as much effort has gone into dissipating heat as generating movement. But of course, at this level it is not only the performance that impresses but also the beautifully modelled design attributes which will lead to the visual impact of an installation utilising SPL Show – As the name suggests, they are as much for show as for another purpose.
