You can improve your in car sounds cheaply and effectively with Deici loudspeakers from Hertz. Achieving greater fidelity, clarity and dynamics is simply a matter of throwing the horrible factory fitted speakers away and replacing them with these beautiful Italian speakers designed to provide a warm and musical sound instead of the strangled parrot-like squawk you are made to live with when buying a car with standard speakers fitted.
By adding some Skinz sound treatment, the sound will be considerably better as it takes care of the area behind the speakers sorting out any rattles, resonances and out of phase reflections which compromise the performance of your speakers, in one swoop. The combined effect of replacing the speakers and adding sound treatment will drastically improve the musicality of your system whatever you listen to and will even improve speech.

Hertz is an Italian brand world renowned for introducing ground breaking technologies to easily affordable product, offering the best sound possible without the effort or expense of adding an external amplifier to your set-up. The Deici range includes a wide span of sizes and come in coaxial form or as separate components to match the equipment you are replacing. Some potential customers are put off by worries that their speakers are not standard sizes, but our FOUR MASTERS are expert in converting standard positions to take better speakers and in most cases, you won’t even see the difference. You will however, definitely hear the difference as you experience enriched bass tones that you didn’t even know your stereo would reproduce you will also benefit from high frequencies which add to the timbre and sibilance of the music ensuring you hear every note, cymbal and breath from your favourite artists. The mid-frequencies are distortion free and rounded but with plenty of attack when listening to drums and electric guitar. Tuned by human ears, Deici will have you revisiting your music collection and discovering detail you haven’t heard in your car before.

FOUR MASTERS Offer Free Bass to Car Audio Fans – For those who haven’t experienced proper audio in a car, giving over precious luggage space to bass speakers or subwoofers may seem a crazy thing to do. Fortunately, thanks to ever-evolving technological advances, it is now possible to drastically reduce the amount of space required while still providing that magical car audio experience.
Hertz skinny sub enclosures are compact and stylish and provide warm, deep bass more typical of bass boxes much larger in size. They are also designed to be very power efficient, which means you don’t need a 1000 Watt amplifier to make them work correctly. In fact, a FOUR MASTERS Audio Joy system featuring a Hertz EBX F20 slim subwoofer system can be driven with modest power and still provide you with accurate, deep bass. FOUR MASTER Audio Joy systems are designed to demystify car audio for those who want great sound but without having to learn a new language and whole branch of science. Audio Joy is a car audio system sold as a package including front component speakers, subwoofer, amplifier and all interconnecting cables and wiring. Furthermore, it includes installation by a FOUR MASTER who will treat the panels your speakers are mounted to for optimum performance and minimum rattles and distortion. This entire system can be installed into your vehicle by us for just £699.99 however, if you sign up for a free copy of Driving Sounds magazine the UK’s only dedicated in-car audio title, you can get the entire system for just £499.99 which, effectively means you get the Hertz EBX F20 subwoofer system for free!

Space efficient subwoofers for your car from Hertz have arrived! Bass reinforcement in your car is fundamental to engaging musical reproduction. For years, however, bass solutions have required a lot of space whether in an enclosure or not. This one fact has turned many music lovers off the idea of putting good sounds in the one place they get the opportunity to listen undisturbed!
Road noise, even with sound treatment in your car, tends to cancel bass frequencies and a subwoofer is required in order to bring the original bass reproduction back and add more as more bass equals more entertainment even when listening to more gentle musical genres such as acoustic or orchestral music. However, giving up 25% of luggage space for this is often too big a sacrifice particularly in a family vehicle! With new Skinny Subwoofers from Hertz, only a fraction of the space is required. Available as discrete driver units or in attractively designed boxes, a FOUR MASTER installer now has far more flexibility to install bass solutions without compromising the functionality of your car.
Hertz flat subwoofers can be neatly hidden under a seat, behind a trim panel or against the bulkhead behind rear passenger seats and as bass frequencies are non-directional, you receive the full benefit of lustrous, warm bass without the “space invasion” of previous solutions.
The subs handle 400 (ES F20.5) and 500 (ES F25.5) watts maximum and are highly efficient resulting in more sound output for your watt! A fairly modest amplifier will drive these subs and provide tight, energetic yet musical bass frequencies, which will enhance any musical genre.
Belonging to the Hertz Energy range these subs are perfect for those who like musical car stereo that has a low impact on the vehicle interior. Hertz ES F20.5 and ES F25.5 are available from all FOUR and FOUR MASTER outlets now Priced at £109.99 and £129.99 respectively.

In-car sound gets the full treatment from FOUR MASTERS and so can you! We have mentioned many times the importance of sound treatment when installing replacement speakers into a car. This can add an uplift in performance of 25 – 50% depending on the build quality of the vehicle they are being installed into.
When a speaker produces sound it is projected forward but also backwards out of the speaker, and it is the backward radiation which causes the problem. The most influential distortion is that caused by reflected or back waves which bounce from any solid surface behind the speaker like, for instance a door panel. In this instance, the reflected sound can seriously impede free movement of the speaker cone and therefore cause a loss of power by cancelling forward sound projection these reflections also introduce distortion by effectively warping the cone out of shape.
In order to address these two significant problems, FOUR MASTERS apply a treatment system called Skinz. This consists of three elements; Skinz – a bituminous material which deadens the panel behind the speaker and eradicates energy sapping panel flex as well as significantly attenuating road noise Wave Diffuser - an irregular shaped dense foam square which breaks up backward reflections before they have a chance to hit any solid panels and Moisture Guard - an open cell foam which acts as a moisture barrier between the door panel and the rear of the speaker.
When properly installed the Skinz system will radically improve sound level, bass (which is more susceptible to cancellation) and longevity of your upgraded speakers. We can already hear you asking why car manufacturers don’t do this as a matter of course and the answer is simply, cost. Car manufacturers will not spend a penny more than necessary to build a car and good audio as opposed to “audio” is just not a consideration – this is why the average base model of budget or family car will have speakers fitted which cost pence rather than pounds and why the discerning music lover has to upgrade them to begin with. But don’t just take our word for it, ask anyone who has an interest in good sound!
To take advantage of a forthcoming offer on Skinz, why not sign up for a free of charge copy of Driving Sounds II, the only dedicated car audio magazine due out soon or simply call 0800 652 5125 or visit your local FOUR MASTER to find out more.

Improving the sound in your car without losing functions is one of the largest challenges of recent times. As car manufacturers develop increasingly sophisticated Man Machine Interfaces (MMI – Buttons and knobs to you and me!) the ability to change the source or head unit in your car can mean an inevitable loss of functionality.
The LC2i is a compact, two-channel processor with active input circuitry, which allows it to accept
speaker-level signals of up to 400 watts per channel from factory-installed source units or amplifiers. It conv
erts them to high-quality pre-amp signals that can then be directed to aftermarket processors and/or amplifiers. Users can enjoy maximum sound quality while maintaining the use of factory fitted steering wheel controls for instance.
The LC2i is the world’s first processor to incorporate Audio Control’s patent pending, AccuBASSTM processing which automatically corrects for the bass roll-off that is common with many factory installed audio systems. Simple “Threshold” and “Level” controls allow users to optimize the bass response to match their speaker system.
The LC2i is installer friendly and equipped with a number of features that make it ideal for simple systems:

- GTOTM (Great Turn-On) Circuit – Powers up the LC2i when it detects signal on the speaker level input
- Fixed and variable outputs with discrete level controls
- Input For Optional Remote Level Control
There is no doubt that all factory installed speakers can be relatively simply and inexpensively improved upon. Even the installation of sound treatment products such as Skinz can make a major difference to speaker performance forcing more of the sound inside the car and less into the door panels! For optimal sound however a combination of replacement speakers, sound treatment and amplifiers is the holy grail. The Audio Control LC-2i coupled with the skill and knowledge of your local FOUR MASTER makes this eminently possible.
So now you don’t have to put up with compressed, bass-less audio from your factory fitted sound system and can at last enjoy living room quality hi-fi in the comfort of your own car.

Hertz is to show it’s incredible Mark I Golf at the Scottish Car Show 17th July 2011. Main event ICE sponsor Hertz will once again be making the most noise at this weekend’s Scottish Car Show as they wheel out the big guns – a freshly installed Mark I Golf.
Installed by FOUR MASTER Source Sounds in Sheffield, the mad golf is packed to the gunwales with no less than 100 speakers including: 36 X 10″ Energy subs, 14 pairs of Energy 2-way components and 10 pairs of coaxials, 6 pairs of SPL show mid-range speakers and 2 pairs of SPL show tweeters. The front end is driven by nine Hertz HE amplifiers with a monstrous Hertz SPL Show driving all of the subs. Power is provided by seven high power batteries are charged by two 240Amp alternators. The sound is pulled together and shaped using an Audison Bit 1. As you would expect from a Source Sounds install it is not only very, very loud but also sounds incredibly musical just like a massive PA rig!
 A wardrobe of sub woofers!
No room for a cup holder!
Hertz is renowned for making lots of noise for your pound and this is why FOUR MASTERS have built not one but two “PA Cars” this year. Reliability is excellent and the products are pretty much bomb-proof in audio terms making them the perfect match for projects of this magnitude. However, don’t be fooled into thinking that Hertz is all about noise. Quite the opposite is true. Because the products are so “musical” a modest Hertz system offers huge versatility and will reproduce all kinds of musical genres including Rock, Dance, Pop, electronica and acoustic music with sweet high frequencies and deep but accurate bass, Hertz reproduce the whole musical spectrum as if your favourite artist were in the room with you.
Be one of the first to experience this fantastic Golf at the Scottish Car Show this weekend 17th July and see if you can bag yourself some Hertz bargains!

Hertz HDP Amplifiers - Compact Car Audio from the Masters. Hertz has launched a new range of compact car audio amplifiers for those who crave great sound but have precious little space. The new range of three D-class amplifiers are built on a cunningly designed aluminium chassis built to effectively dissipate heat. In the cramped confines of a car, it is often heat management that limits power. Maximum power levels are required in order to give high accuracy of sound and the best case scenario is to have everything operating well within its electrical limits. The new range uses power amplifying devices called MOSFETS which although not new, have required new engineering principles to ensure that they produce the same or better fidelity than the current hungry transistors they replace. This takes more skill and expertise than the lay person could possibly imagine and if you are looking for those particular attributes in a design team you can do no better than world-renowned Italian designers Hertz.
The new range consists of three amplifiers of different configurations. A 4-channel HDP 4, provides 150 Watts RMS of high-quality audio and can be configured for the classic system of a pair of component speakers driven from the front two channels and a subwoofer driven from the other two bridged together to drive up to 500 Watts RMS – Bass always takes more power! A serious upgrade on this would be to use the HDP 4 as a 2-channel to drive the front speakers and recruit the heavy artillery by way of the 1000Watt RMS HDP 1 to drive the bass. The final amplifier in the line-up is a 5-channel which houses 4 channels of 70 Watts RMS and one 380 Watt RMS output, useful for driving a 4-channel plus subwoofer system or an active configuration where the mids and tweeters are driven discretely.
Offering great flexibility to system designers was a top priority and the amplifiers are equipped with easy to configure and adjust controls to set crossover frequencies and hi-pass and lo-pass filters and a whole host of protection circuitry is included on board to ensure that if problems should arise, the amplifier will not be damaged or cause damage to other elements of the system.
If you are serious about music, you need to take a closer look at these magnificent power packs from Hertz. Visit your local FOUR MASTER and ask for a demonstration!

Hertz brings Panda Power to the Modified Nationals 2011. As well as the serious business of providing music lovers with great sounding products, Italian Hertz is demonstrating a sense of humour and unbeatable competence in the field of Sound Pressure Level (SPL) when FOUR unveils its loudest show car ever at Modified Nationals in Peterborough 27th-29th May. SPL is an audio art form in its own right, where installers attempt to get the loudest sound possible from a car and many competitions happen at car shows and dealerships all over the country.
The madcap FIAT Panda belonging to Hertz distributor FOUR has been modified to accept:
MP 15 SPL Monster amplifier running subs
4 x EP4X Amplifiers running speakers
16 x SX 250D SPL Show subwoofers
16 x SV 165 SPL Show Midrange in doors
8 x ST 25 SPL Show Tweeters in doors
4 x SV 200 SPL Show Midrange on bonnet
2 x ST 44 SPL Show Tweeter in front grille
Bit ONE signal processor
The array of product makes this the loudest PA system on wheels you will ever hear. However, unlike many other examples of SPL car, this Panda actually
sounds musical and isn’t simply a bass frequency generator. The brain child of FOUR’s technical team, Panda Power was built to fit a simple brief; build the loudest show car possible for the 2011 modified car show scene. Last year the car was heard all over the country with a far more modest system inside it, this year it promises to be able to clear clouds with the sheer sound pressure level it generates.

The boys at FOUR are extremely excited about the unveiling as they believe the car will draw crowds like nothing that has gone before it. As brand sponsor for the Modified Nationals, Hertz will have a major show presence both inside and outside the main venue with the FOUR MASTERS Car Clinic on hand to give free advice on show goers own installers. The serious side of the business is to help young drivers to avoid the pitfalls and sometimes, extreme danger presented by some DIY built systems but the Car Clinic doctors (and nurses) will also measure your car with an Audio Control RTA and give you a certificate showing you how your system measures up.
So, get along to the Modified Nationals and get your car checked over – You don’t need our stand number, you will hear us.
